Building caves into our steep sloping hillsides was a natural. Caves provide an ideal wine-storing climate of 60°F temperatures without the need for additional air conditioning. With Blanca's leadership and professional design expertise, we began construction of the new winery and caves in 1997.

Blanca's vision was for the winery's Tuscan inspired style to be perfectly integrated with its functional operations. The new building would create added beauty, complementing its natural surroundings rather than standing out against them. The new caves would be connected directly to the winery, cutting out wasted space and again conserving aesthetic impact on the naturally breathtaking property. The result was a marriage of form and function in perfect proportions, finished just in time for the 1999 harvest.
