The Estate Vineyards are all located at the top of Spring Mountain. The majority of the vineyards are terraced on slopes that are 30 degrees or more. The original estate vines are now 22 years old and are planted on a 6x10 grid. In the past few years much of the original vineyard has undergone redevelopment and now vines are spaced 4x4. Cain Vineyard & Winery is dedicated to our signature Cabernet blend, Cain Five. Composed of the five classic varieties of the Cabernet/Bordeaux family, Cain Five epitomizes the benefits of blending to achieve a complex wine, supple and rich of texture, combining a full, firm structure with a long and subtle finish.
The family is one of the early pioneers in the modern American artisan distillery movement. They began distilling in California in 1983 and haven't stopped since then. Marko is Generation XIII to carry on the family's European heritage of fermenting & distilling. He carries on with a spontaneous love of the art form.
Men desire her. Women desire to be her. Indeed, the fiery and flirtatious Fantesca is everybody's muse. Lighthearted and lyrical, smart beyond sexy, she captivates winemaker and wine lover alike with her clever wit and whimsy. Fantesca Estate emanates from her character as a boutique Napa Valley . . .
Hollywood and Vine Cellars, where two guys from the entertainment biz have gotten together to make the best, hand crafted, ultra-premium Napa Valley wine ever! When you hear the words “ Hollywood and Vine", the famous intersection in Los Angeles might come to mind, but for us, the name represents the partnership between friends and a mutual love . . .
The 1998 vintage marks a new beginning for the Marston family, as it is the product of their commitment to consistently produce limited quantities of the highest quality wine under their own label. It is first and foremost a labor of love. “It is an exciting opportunity,” as Michael Marston puts it, “to share the fruits of our labor, to make new friends and to . . .
In the late 1970s, we started to visit the Napa Valley frequently and fell in love with the area and its people. We have always had an interest in wine, both in its making and its consumption, and in food and gardening. In 1980, we were living in Midland, Texas, and began thinking about a second home; we decided to start looking for a small property in the Napa . . .
What makes Peacock Family Vineyard one of the world’s most unusual Cabernet Sauvignons? It begins with the spectacular steep rolling knoll where the vineyards perch. What makes hillside or mountain wine so different? “It’s because we have smaller berries,” explains winemaker Craig Becker. “We have to get the tannins soft and fleshy before we pick . . .
Our first wines were Cabernet and Sauvignon blanc in 1983, but we have now concentrated our efforts on a very ageworthy Margaux-type blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet franc and Petit Verdot, all grown here on the 25 acre parcel where we live. “Estate Bottled” is an important definition for us, meaning that we grow all the grapes on land . . .
Ritchie Creek Vineyard is located at the top of Spring Mountain in the Napa Valley appellation’s premium Cabernet Sauvignon growing district. We produce just 800 cases of handcrafted estate wines from our small mountain vineyard which was planted in 1967. At 2000 feet above sea level, our vineyard’s thin rocky soil and cool northern exposure bear low yields . . .
High in the Mayacamas Range, at an elevation of 1,700 feet above the Napa Valley floor, are Spring Mountain and the Robert Keenan Winery and vineyards. This area was first identified as prime vineyard land by Peter Conradi in the late 19th century when he planted 100 acres of terraced vineyard in Zinfandel and Syrah grapes . . .
Back in 1960, the Napa Valley was a farming community where hard work was rewarded with the satisfaction of a job well done. The valley floor was dominated by sheep, and the hillsides were wild, untamed forests. As part of a surveying class while in college, Fred Schweiger selected to survey his parent's property at the top of Spring Mountain . . .
The 30-acre estate of Sherwin Family Vineyards was purchased by Steve and Linda Sherwin in the Spring of 1996. The property had an existing three-acre vineyard, planted in 1981, that consisted of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet franc. The following year the Sherwins cleared an additional 13 acres, removing over 150,000 . . .

Terra Valentine is blessed with two vineyards, Wurtele and Yverdon, that capture the best of Spring Mountain District winegrowing. Both vineyards have been farmed using sustainable practices since 2001. As of 2008, the Yverdon vineyard has been organically farmed. The vineyards are distinguished by a diversity of mountain terrain and vines that are well . . .
Beginning in 2006, Pete Richmond of Silverado Farming Company took over the management and development of our vineyards. We share the same vision: an unparalleled approach to producing the highest quality of fruit possible from our land. Pete and his team manage our vineyards using the latest in sustainable agricultural practices. Beginning in . . .
York Creek Vineyards runs up and over the crest of the mountains to the west of the town of St. Helena, in a lush and beautiful area long known as "Spring Mountain." Wine grapes have been grown here for more than one hundred years, and we have vines in both Napa and Sonoma counties. At least twenty-four tree species are native here; an extraordinary . . .
